Located in the heart of Canaan Valley, West Virginia, Black Bear Woods Resort is the perfect location to enjoy all four seasons from the mountains, rivers and recreation of the area.

Set on more than 40 landscaped acres, we have sweeping views of Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Cabin Mountain, Timberline ski area and Canaan Valley Resort ski area. Our resort is located on Canaan Mountain at the north end of Canaan Valley between Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley State Park. We are only 5 miles from the town of Davis, WV and 8 miles from Thomas, WV. Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob and 900,000 acres of Monongahela National Forest are nearby, offering endless possibilities for outdoor recreation and scenic beauty any time of year!

Our on-site amenities include: an outdoor heated pool, fishponds, mini golf, playground, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, a nature trail, 24-hour security, miles of private roads for riding bikes and a large mountain lodge with large decks for meetings, events, weddings, reunions, picnics and more!

Black Bear offers three unique styles of accommodations, and all are individually owned and tastefully decorated by the owner. Choose from 2-bedroom pedestal cabins, or deluxe pedestal homes with 3 to 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Inn Suites are available on site. Don't forget your pooch because some units are pet friendly.
